Christianity, the New Testament, and the World of Jesus’ Jerusalem Notes by Dr. Honora M. Finkelstein 7 - The Lord's Prayer I think it is also important to note that Jesus’ teaching of the Lord’s Prayer, “Our Father, who art in Heaven . . . ,” has distinct similarities to both the symbol of the Star of David and of the Hermetic statement, “That which is above is as that which is below, for the working of the One thing.” Jesus is exhorting his followers to keep in mind and in their prayers that that which is manifest on the earth plane is a reflection or mirroring of that which is in the Divine Mind/ our collective human minds.
